Our Story
Ultimate Windows started in 2001, when Jeff Spierings, a builder in North-East Victoria, grew tired of waiting on local window suppliers to deliver for his own building projects. Working out of an old farm shed at Eben, 15km from Wodonga, he had aluminium profiles trucked in from Capral down a rough 3km driveway, a delivery that once left the supplier’s truck bogged. Rather than keep depending on outside suppliers, he brought his son, Tye, in to help fabricate windows for his own jobs.
A few years later, the decision to invest in the Thermeco product suite and dedicated fabrication equipment turned that necessity into a real business. In 2007, Ultimate Windows displayed Thermeco at the HIA Home Ideas Centre and opened in the Canberra market, backed by local agents and direct client contact.
By early 2009, growth meant a move to a purpose-built factory at 231 McKoy St, Wodonga, with new equipment to back a growing customer base. In 2014, Ultimate Windows began fabricating uPVC windows alongside its existing aluminium systems, betting on uPVC as the more energy-efficient standard for Australian homes. That bet led to a major investment: in 2015 the company ordered a fully automated uPVC fabrication line from Europe, commissioned in early 2016, making Ultimate Windows one of only a handful of Australian manufacturers running this technology at the time.
Today, Ultimate Windows employs over 45 staff across manufacturing, sales, and installation, from a 5,000 sqm facility in Wodonga with showroom and installation teams in both Melbourne and Canberra. The business is still run by Tye and his family. The builder who started it all still says the credit belongs to him.

Tye and Erin Spierings, Founders: Started Ultimate Windows in 2001 after years as a builder frustrated by unreliable window supply
“Manufacturing in Australia isn’t easy. Every day you’re competing against cheaper imports, rising costs and a market that’s been around for a long time. It can be tough, but we’ve always believed that if you build a better product and back it with great service, customers will see the difference.
For many years we were a small business with fewer than seven staff. We weren’t trying to be the biggest, we just wanted to build the best windows we could. As more Australians started looking for energy-efficient homes, we saw the opportunity that uPVC windows could offer and committed ourselves to getting them right.
Our goal has always been the same: manufacture the highest-quality windows we can, sell them at a fair price, and stand behind every product that leaves our factory. The growth we’ve experienced over the last decade has been incredible, but it’s still built on those same values we started with.”

Over the years Ultimate Windows has grown to employ many management, staff and apprentices while taking on greater commercial jobs and in 2007 released the Thermeco product into the Canberra market. With a display at the HIA Home Ideas Centre and local agents for installation and client contact, Ultimate Windows remains committed to quality service in the Canberra market and beyond.
In early 2009 we moved into our new factory at 231 McKoy St, Wodonga and invested heavily in new equipment and systems to ensure our service to our customer really was second-to-none.
We understand that the future of glazing in Australia is in cost-effective, energy efficient windows which is why, in 2014 Ultimate Windows began fabricating uPVC windows to complement our other systems.
2015 was a year of planning and organising, we placed an order for a fully automated uPVC fabrication line from Europe. The commission was completed in early 2016 and proudly we are now one of just a handful of companies in Australia with this new and innovative technology.
The constant strive to look for more energy efficient window systems and improvements in manufacturing techniques have seen Ultimate Windows grow to specialise in uPVC windows, employ over 40 staff, with a 5,000 sqm facility in Wodonga and showrooms, sales and installations teams in both Canberra and Melbourne. And is still run by the son and his young family – although the builder claims all the credit…
